The stock radiator is not sufficient for spirit driving or track use. Water cooling is very important for rotary engine. Over-heating will cause deterioration of the water seals inside the engine. Once the water seals are damaged, it's will cost thousands of dollars to replace the engine. Mazda might not honor the warranty if the cause of engine failure is due to over-heating. The Koyo radiator is all aluminum construction and it has twice the water capacity as the stock radiator. It increases the water cooling efficiency by 30%. This is one of the most important safety modification you can do on the RX-8.
